¹² So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! ¹³ No temptation ^[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted ^[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, ^[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

⁹ if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
