Pastor's Pondering - November 2007
November brings fall colors, Thanksgiving Day and best of all our "Fall Communion Service."
Now Don't misunderstand me! I love to see the trees change color and show God's artistry among his handiwork. OH!!!!!!! And Thanksgiving, family fellowship, and food (yeah! that food).
Communion, however, is the best benefit of the month; it's and opportunity for me to remember all that Christ Jesus has done for me. It allows me to show my love and gratitude in the way that my Savior Himself instituted. As Paul stated in (I Cor. 11 23-26);
"For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come."
Please come and join me as we remember and celebrate our Lord.
"Fall Communion' will be held Sunday night Nov. 18, 2007 at 6:00 pm. Here at First Grace Brethren Church 2932 Maple Ave. Altoona, PA.
