Pastor's Pondering - february 2008
February is known as the month of “Love”. Oh yes! How precious is that tender romantic love that so warms the cockles of our hearts; as father would recite;
“Love, It’s such a splendored thing,
It’s often like a lizard circles close about your heart, And nibbles at your gizzard.”
To put joking aside; it really is good to know that the basis for all love comes from our God. As God writes in His love letter to us;
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16)
God’s desire is that all people would come to Him by faith believing to salvation. However, the sad truth is not all will come; many will live their whole lives always rejecting the call of the Spirit in their hearts and then spend eternity in hell. All because they do not understand;
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Romans 10: 9-11)
The month of love would be a great time to come to Jesus Christ; “The Lover of Your Soul.”
